An upcoming Hollywood film raises the question: Is it ethical to be a football fan?

This December, actor Will Smith will star in "Concussion," a drama based on the real-life story of Bennet Omalu, a Nigerian-born neuropathologist whose discovery of the neurodegenerative disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in the brains of deceased football players incurred Big Tobacco-style denial and dismissal from the National Football League.

I recently spoke with NPR's Tom Ashbrook about the film, the NFL's ongoing brain damage crisis and the ethics of being a football fan.
