An upcoming Hollywood film takes on the NFL's brain damage cover-up

This December, actor Will Smith will star in "Concussion," a drama based on the real-life story of Bennet Omalu, a Nigerian-born neuropathologist whose discovery of the neurodegenerative disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in the brains of deceased football players incurred Big Tobacco-style denial and dismissal from the National Football League.

I recently spoke with NPR's Bill Littlefield about the film and allegations that Sony softened its script to appease the NFL.
